Platformer Saving
Platformer levels now remember your progress. Leave a stage halfway through and 2.209 picks up where you stopped instead of resetting the run.
Geometry Dash 2.209 is the update released on October 15, 2026. It arrived on iOS, Android and Steam on the same day, and it is the first release since 2.2081 in January 2026.
This page carries the complete official changelog for 2.209 and the full version history of Geometry Dash 2.2 and everything that followed it.
All three platforms went live together, which is unusual for a Geometry Dash update — the 2.2 launch in December 2023 rolled out to Steam first and mobile a day later, and the 2.207 release was split across three days. 2.209 shipped everywhere at once.
All 19 official changes in the order RobTop Games published them, with a short explanation of what each one actually does.

Every input can be rebound on desktop, so you can move jump off the space bar without touching third-party tools.
The game keeps a running count of your attempts and deaths per level, giving creators and players far better practice data.
Show every spot where you died directly inside the level. Perfect for spotting the jump that is actually killing your run.
A wider sound effect library with pack support, making it easier to give custom levels proper audio feedback.
Move levels between devices and accounts with a clean import and export flow, no more workarounds.
Levels are saved and backed up automatically, so a crash or a dead battery no longer costs you hours of building.
Fine-tune how platformer levels handle movement and jumping to match the physics your layout was designed around.
Jump between saved start positions in the editor and test any section of a level instantly.
Groups can be given names, which turns a long list of numbered IDs into something you can actually read.
A cleaner editor layout, better tool access and smaller quality-of-life fixes across the whole building workflow.
Search and preview sound effects faster with a rebuilt browser.
Levels that rotate out are now replayable, so missing a daily or event no longer means losing access to it.
Better social tools for tracking the creators and players you follow.
The game now tells you about new levels, messages and events while you are playing.
A friendlier messaging experience with emotes, on top of a general cleanup of the chat flow.
A dedicated place for announcements so you can see what RobTop is shipping without leaving the game.
Menus and settings are easier to move around in, with clearer grouping of gameplay toggles.
A long list of smaller corrections that smooth out the release as a whole.
